"My painitings are interactive yet peaceful."

Natural areas, mountain ranges and countryside scenes that surround me are
my inspiration.  Texture is a major element in my work.  I paint and explore the effects

that thick  textrued paint produces during different light conditions.  The paintings

appearance is sculptural and tapestry-like and as light conditions change so does the paintings appearance.  I start with a complementary color under painting.  When the painting is finished, small colorful flicks of the under painting peer through from

between the textured paint, creating a brighter image.  I enjoy the abstract application

of the paint, that comes together as you step back.  My paintings appear as realism

from a distance, but nevertheless become very abstract and crude close up.  Each

textured landscape painting is interactive yet peaceful.
